Public Health: Epidemiology

The information resources linked from this guide are all freely available on the Web.

In order to protect the health of various groups of people, or populations, it is important to be able to track the occurrence and spread of disease in that population.  Epidemiological studies look at the presence and distribution of diseases or conditions in populations that are at risk of developing the condition or contracting the illness.  Measurements that are important to epidemiology include incidence, prevalence, morbidity and mortality.
