This two-week, 2-credit elective is designed to provide the fourth year medical student with the basic competencies in biomedical information management. The student is primarily taught the basics of searching the biomedical literature via PubMed. Searching other biomedical literature databases are addressed as needed. The student is assigned take-home practice exercises to strengthen their literature searching skills. At the end of the rotation, the student is given a brief practical examination of his/her abilities to search these tools. Registration is through the School of Medicine department.
