What is a Liaison Librarian?
A library liaison is a reference librarian who has been formally designated as the primary contact person between the TTUHSC Library and their assigned academic departments. This person serves as a contact for assistance with any library service or issue.
What Can a Liaison Librarian Do for Your Class?
- Embedding a library liaison in courses (in-person, hybrid, and online) ensures instruction on how to select and search online resources, and how to use citation managers. The librarians can create focused resource and research guides.
- Liaisons offer office hours (in-person or online) within the school or course. Students and faculty can stop by or log on to ask a questions about library services and resources and get assistance with research and class assignments.
- Membership or advisory roles on the School's Curriculum Committee ensures that quality resources are used in the students' education and provides an opportunity for the librarian to request materials on the faculty's behalf.
- Liaisons can help communicate library news that impacts the school’s faculty and students
